When printing from Outlook stopped working after Windows updates. When trying to print, if you get the error “Cannot print unless an item is selected. Select an item , and try to print again.”
Details
It can be very frustrating if you cannot print from Outlook but can from other applications such as Word and Excel.
How to fix the problem
- Close Outlook
- Navigate to C:\Users\<your user profile>\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Outlook\
- Locate the outlprnt file. Rename the file to outlprnt.bak.
- Restart Outlook.

This issue may be caused by removing updates KB5000802 or KB5000808 to do with the APC_INDEX_MISMATCH for win32kfull.sys bluescreen when printing, see more info about this issue here.
Update: Microsoft have patched this update issue now.
